Northside Mower Repairs and Sales

Just responding to someone on Facebook who had a similar issue so thought I’d post about my experience…Last year I dropped an edger in to be fixed, I asked them to have a look over it… They charged me $100+ to ‘repair’, and gave it back “fixed”. Unbeknownst to me, they sent a machine out of their shop supposedly “checked & repaired” WITH NO oil in it. I unwittingly used it just 10 minutes after taking it home… and obviously the engine seized up soon after. Took it straight back to complain and they blamed me for not checking the oil before I used it. Even though they had not just 15minutes before charged me $100+ to check and repair it and gave it to me supposedly working and operational?!!. I had to take them to small claims to get my $100+ back. Judge wouldn’t make them repair their damage as they claim it wasn’t operational when they received it. They wouldn’t even fix it in good faith for their mistake… Canham mowers review: Ethics-zero stars, workmanship- zero stars, Recommendation- never ever again. I wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them.

Called to get advice for a old mower that would not start. Didn’t get from behind the counter to at least look at it. Said no parts available and not worth them looking at it. Not very customer focused and quite rude.Followed problem up with Balcatta mower repairs who gave me the time and found a small part to repair the carburettor. Good price and friendly service. Problem solved.

After reading others experience with northside i have no option but to agree with and warn anyone planning on going there.For almost 2 years they lied to me ripped me off by NOT doing the repairs or simply couldn't do them. After spending about 8grand on new equipment everything i purchased except the edger broke down within the first 6 to 8 months some just minor issues only to be expected but when they took my $750 trimmer for a service and kept it for 9 months always making up excuses waiting on parts waiting on tool to fit the part or the best one the company that made it wont send the part. After being abused and called dumd I took it back and gave it to a mate who found the problem a $15 seal had it back to me in 2 days running better than ever.They use non genuine parts blades and really dont know much about anything except charging for work they didnt do or wasnt requested.I had so many more bad experiences to many to list. Just be warned DONT GO THERE UNTIL YOU READ ALL REVIEWS. ALWAYS the same or similar its no coincidence. Rotten just rotten

Recently went in to get a hieght adjuster fitted to my mow master reel mower, they price given was $750 but was told that for the price its not really worth it and adviced me on the tool they use to adjust reel mowers which only costed me $33 and even walked me through how to correctly use it. This isn't the first time ive used these guys and have always found that they are helpful and happy to give advise. Will continue to use these guys with all my commercial equipment

I took my wiper sniper in to get a difference head on it...I stressed I needed a different head as I could not thread the one I had....when I went to pick it up they had put the same type of head that was on it already and said that was the only one that would fit, if they called me I would of said don’t do it. It cost me $75 and I still can’t put the cord on.

These guy's do an excellent job and price don't believe all reviews people put on social media who can take responsibilty for thier own doing or don't want to spend money to repair issues properly!! Phil Judgment lawns brought new machines costing 7K and never serviced them, they were run into the ground so the manafacturer would not cover warranty as there was no service history since sold, the mower shop repaired the issue at No cost so i cant see how he was ripped off, he was not charged for any repair other than the cost of the machine from new, he also took 3 months to pay a $120 bill with many excuses which we helped him out as he had No account he promissed to pay the next week, he also complained of a bent edger blade after having it for 3 months costing $5.50 that was rolling aroing having bags of rubbish placed on it !! as we say don't always believe what you read theres always 2 sides to a story.Julien Hunt ( not Hint ) sus already brought an edger second hand off social media that wouldn't go, he was asked if he wanted it serviced he said no just get it running as he does his own servicing, we replaced a carby and got the machine running for him he was told to keep an checking the oil leval as they only hold less than 500ml and his second hand machine was an oil burner, he brought it back 3 weeks latter siezed up due to No oil, he decided to take the shop to court and lost as the invoice stated everything he wanted and was charged for $150 whiich we as good will gesture we runfinded as the judge made him look like the idiot he is, he still 2 years after has to attach on social media !!we are not perfect like anyone but our polcy is if we dont fix your machine we don't charge, we have warranty period and will repair your machine if our fault No charge.

I've given these guys a solid go but most of my equipment I've had to take back to be fixed because it wasn't done properly in the first place. This has happened at least 5 times in less than a year.When I said something about it today the attitude I received from Trevor the owner was unacceptable and he wanted to charge me extra for looking at a saw I'd been handed back as fixed twice already.What did I already pay you for?

I come here when ever I need advice or help with my power tools.Trevor and his team are friendly and very helpful. By just talking to Trevor you can see how much experience hes got and hes not afraid to share it.

Brilliant, had a few enquiries, but the guys there sorted me out. They had time for a chat and it was an enjoyable experience.Highly recommend.

Stay well away from this business unless you want to be ripped off pay for work that hasn't been done pay for work that you didn't ask to be doneand look out if you dare to go back and query why your mower still has the exact same problem that you took it in for. He was abusive and yelling over the top of me. The young guy that saw me coming back in with my mower took a quick exit out the back of the store and was never seen again obviously new why i was there and obviously not the first time his seen customer coming back unsatisfied with the work
